{"id":618,"date":"2019-04-23T18:51:09","date_gmt":"2019-04-23T22:51:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bdc.pubinteractive.ca\/nouvelles-evenements\/le-buffet-des-continents-honours-1350-individuals-for-their-community-contributions\/"},"modified":"2025-08-25T12:06:03","modified_gmt":"2025-08-25T16:06:03","slug":"le-buffet-des-continents-honours-1350-individuals-for-their-community-contributions","status":"publish","type":"nouvelles-evenements","link":"https:\/\/lebuffetdescontinents.ca\/en\/news-events\/le-buffet-des-continents-honours-1350-individuals-for-their-community-contributions\/","title":{"rendered":"Buffet des Continents honours 1,350 individuals for their community contributions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"text\">During Volunteer Week, Buffet des Continents restaurant chain honoured nearly 1,350 deserving volunteers in the nine regions of Quebec where it has been established in order to underscore their commitment to the community.<\/p>\r\n<p class=\"text\">This is a yearly event organized by the management of each of the chain\u2019s nine restaurants, in collaboration with the leaders of various volunteer organizations, in the regions of Quebec City, Chaudi\u00e8re-Appalaches, Central Quebec, Mauricie, the Ottawa Valley, Estrie, Montreal South Shore, Lanaudi\u00e8re and the Laurentian Mountains.<\/p>\r\n<p class=\"text\">\u201cThis tribute to volunteers takes place in all the restaurants; it rewards each region\u2019s volunteers for their exemplary involvement in society and honours the most deserving,\u201d explains the chain\u2019s marketing director, Sonia Bergeron.<\/p>\r\n<p class=\"text\">\u201cThe work of these volunteers is vital in today\u2019s society. These people are committed, dynamic and innovative, as well as being available and reliable. They are an important component of social solidarity,\u201d she added.\u201d<\/p>\r\n<p class=\"text\">More than 1,350 people were served a free dinner during these nine evening events in each restaurant. Some 350 volunteers received awards recognizing the admiration and appreciation of their communities for their involvement in organizing social, community and sports activities for youth, adults, seniors, disabled individuals and underprivileged people.<\/p>\r\n<p class=\"text\">The support offered to these volunteers and organizations by Buffet des Continents is clearly reflected in the fact that each restaurant in the chain provides food to the volunteers involved in the various social and sports activities held throughout the year in each region.
