Buffet des Continents raises $36,756 to help seniors in need

On October 1 and 2, close to 6,000 people enjoyed a free meal at the nine Buffet des Continents locations in exchange for a donation, raising a total of $36,756 for senior aid organizations in Québec that work in collaboration with the FADOQ (Québec federation of senior citizens).

For the fifth year in a row, seniors were invited to celebrate National Seniors Day with a free lunch at one of the restaurant chain’s nine locations in as many regions of Québec.

Over the past five years, Buffet des Continents has raised a grand total of $163,185 to help support regional senior aid organizations.

“For the managers and employees of Buffet des Continents, community engagement is part of our DNA,” said Peter Andreopoulos, the restaurant’s spokesperson. “We remain active throughout the year with volunteers, families in need, young people and seniors to help improve the lives of people in our communities,” he said.

LBuffet des Continent has a long history of helping seniors. Senior aid organizations face a growing need as our population ages and as poverty and isolation continue to pose challenges.

“In this context, it is vital to support organizations that provide aid, support, meals, activities and recreation for seniors, who have helped to build a better society,” says Andreopoulos.

Since it was founded almost 20 years ago, the Buffet des Continents restaurant chain has been deeply engaged in the community, supporting charitable organizations as well as social, athletic and community activities.

Its commitment to social engagement is a value shared by restaurant owners and employees throughout the entire chain. Buffet des Continents partners with a number of community, social and sports associations, and it supports charities throughout the year by organizing a volunteer appreciation night and a non-perishable food drive during the holiday season.
